Our editorial team is made up of physicians, nurses, and scientists who are committed to improving patient care by providing evidence-based information to clinicians.
The Specialty Topic Editor will consult with the Clinical Decisions Health Disparities Task Force as well as product team leads to help guide health equity efforts. Projects would include but not be limited to:
Review in-house Inclusive Style Guide for all clinical products
Offer strategic guidance on the development of new content areas focused on promotion of health equity at the point-of-care
Assist with triaging current health disparities research relevant for point-of-care
Consult on shared decision-making tools as needed for issues around inclusive language, presentation, and inclusion of social determinants such as race and gender in risk calculation tools, as well as other relevant discussions related to shared decision-making
Assistance and collaboration for harmonized scope for care team inclusion with nursing-related cultural care content at the point-of-care including ensuring sensitive language and appropriate coverage of various cultural groups
This role requires a breadth and depth of knowledge in the field of health disparities and social determinants of health as demonstrated by clinical experience, teaching, research, and a publication track record. Familiarity with and interest in evidence-based medicine is also preferred.
Editorial work requires less than 10% time commitment and can be completed remotely.
