Title: Senior Manager, Medical Network Drug Pricing Strategy – Multiple Locations

In this Senior Manager level role, you’ll use your knowledge and analytical skills to help determine how clinical providers group up by specialty and service line. This position will be accountable for developing and implementing network contracting strategies related to pharmaceutical products. This individual will work with negotiation teams to understand current contract structure and with analytic teams to conduct unit cost and contract valuation analysis. Position will work with industry experts and negotiation leads to determine future contracting strategy that will best position UHC for long-termsustainability related to medical drug spend. Individual will work with regional network contracting leads to prioritize high opportunity contracts, implement new contracting strategy and monitor performance.
Additionally, this position will work with pharmacy management and network contracting staff to evaluate and prioritize medical drug management programs, including product preferencing and alternative drug sourcing models.

Review and evaluate current contracts for unit cost and overall value
Develop future national contracting strategy (rates and methodology) to best position UHC for long term medical drug spend management and to meet BIC and affordability goals
Prioritize contracts for greatest value potential
Work with network leadership to develop plan to roll-out medical pharmacy recontracting initiative within confines of overall network recontracting
Monitor and report on recontracting, working with network partners ? including total savings ? remediate as necessary
Work with corporate partners to identify and drive site of service opportunities
Develop alternative drug sourcing models, and work with corporate and external partners to execute on initiatives
Improve governance and monitoring of drugs on the medical benefit
6+ years of experience in managed care
3+ years of network contracting and/or pricing experience
Basic analytic software (Excel) knowledg
Experience developing and driving large, complex, cross-functional initiatives
Knowledge of medical drug reimbursement
Ability to influence regional network leadership as well as other corporate partner leadership (ORx and Optum)
Ability to take complex and disparate information and synthesize and analyze to develop actionable strategies
Financial / analytic acumen; able to direct analytic staff to produce analysis for decision support and ongoing reports for monitoring
