The Section Editor role will becomprised of 2 distinct responsibilities.The first part of the role is as the Section Editor for Obesity Content. The Editor will work under the direction of the Deputy Editor for General Medicine and willprovide clinical oversightto the DynaMed team for the development and maintenance of content in DynaMed pertinent to the management of obesity. The Editor will help to recruit and retain a network of external physician editors and peer reviewers as needed for these topics.
The second part of the role is Section Editor for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion and will focus primarily onrecruitment effortsat DynaMed. This will involve effort to recruit a diverse group of Topic Editors, Section Editors, and Deputy Editors through networking and other outreach activities. The Editor may also from time to time participate in planning for topics that address health disparities and bias in medicine, as well as give feedback on subsequent topics developed.
The role is a 10% part-time position (4 hours per week).The amount of time spent on each of these efforts will vary from week to week, but it is expected that the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion efforts will occupy the majority of the time spent.
Required Qualifications:
Medical degree (MD, DO, or equivalent) with license/certification current and in good standing
At least 5 years of direct patient care experience in Obesity
Ongoing participation in clinical activity
At least 2 years of experience with MS Office Suite including Word (with use of track changes) and Excel
Preferred Qualifications
Breadth and depth of knowledge in the field as demonstrated by clinical leadership roles, teaching, research, or a publication track record
Critical appraisal and statistical skills sufficient to analyze clinical relevance of all study types
Previous experience with developing treatment and/or diagnostic algorithms
2 years of experience as team leader or project leader
Knowledge of PubMed searching strategies
