Under the MSP Team manager’s general supervision, the Network Engineer role is to design and create computer networks within our client’s organizations. The Network Engineer’s primary responsibility is to apply analysis techniques and procedures by consulting with clients to determine network specifications. Additionally, the Network Engineer will assist with escalations as needed for remote rapid response issues.
SPECIFIC JOB DUTIES INCLUDE:
Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to design and implement functional networks for our clients.
Act as a subject matter expert when network hardware is being installed and configured.
Work directly with the Cybersecurity team to help develop and establish network security standards.
Establish and maintain company Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) to perform network performance tests.
Establish and maintain company Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) to perform network maintenance tasks.
Act as the final escalation point for rapid response to network support issues.
2-4 years of advanced technical experience as a Network Engineer
4-8 years of experience in IT support and/or IT engineering
Advanced knowledge of network operation systems, such as and not limited to Cisco, Junos, SonicWall, and Fortinet
Advanced knowledge of communication and routing protocols
Advanced knowledge of network analysis tools such as Wireshark
Excellent written and communication skills, demonstrated ability to create comprehensive technology analysis documents, instruction sheets, and process documentation for current and potential programs
Ability to facilitate technical meetings, and convey technical information to non-technical staff
Proactive communicator with all levels of staff and management with the ability to maintain open communication with others
Self-motivated/directed with exceptional customer service orientation and dedication to meeting deadlines
Excellent organization, time management and analytical skills
History of balancing multiple priorities and the ability to adapt and change focus as deadlines or customer needs shift
CompTIA Network+, CompTIA Security+, CCNA, CCIE, WCNA, CCNP, CISSP, and ITIL certifications
