The American Red Cross is seeking a Manager, Long-Term Recovery Systems Development. This is a remote (work from home) position and can operate any where in the U.S. This temporary, benefits eligible position is expected to last 12 months from date of hire, with an opportunity to extend based on business need.Because the Red Cross is a disaster response organization, staff may be asked to be on 24-hour call during period of major disaster.
This role will facilitate systems development, through project management and business analyst methodologies, to achieve Recovery Services objectives. Responsibilities include submitting project deliverables, preparing status reports, and establishing and executing a project communication plan. The role will also be required to perform requirements analysis, document processes and support user acceptance testing and user adoption. The position will liaise between various internal and external stakeholders. The ideal candidate will have outstanding interpersonal, project management and problem-solving skills.
Coordinating with cross discipline teams to ensure that all parties are aligned with project requirements, deadlines, and schedules
Monitoring deliverables and ensuring timely completion of project milestones
Preparing status reports by gathering, analyzing and summarizing information
Developing and implementing project communications plan
Performing system requirements analysis
Planning and organizing systems testing
Facilitating change requests to guarantee stakeholders are informed of impacts on schedule and budget
Ensuring solutions meet business needs and requirements
Prioritizing initiatives based on business needs/constraints
Supporting the development of user manuals and other training materials needed for successful system implementation and maintenance
Conducting a post-project evaluation
Other duties as assigned
Exceptional analytical and conceptual thinking skills
Skilled at finding creative solutions to complex and/or technical challenges
Ability to support and influence stakeholders in identifying acceptable solutions
Excellent planning, organizational and time management skills
Excellent documentation skills
A proven track record of leading and supporting successful project teams of various sizes
Ability to work in a collaborative, matrix management environment
Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
Understanding of software development life cycle is a plus
Working knowledge of Agile methodology, techniques and frameworks beneficial
Education: 4 year college degree or equivalent combination of education and experience required
Experience: Minimum 5-7 years required
Management Experience: Minimum 1 ? 3 years of staff management preferred
