We are looking for an Editorial Associate to join the Sponsored Content Services team within our Epocrates division. Your job will be to assist Writers and Editors in editing, revising, and annotating message content based on supporting reference material, including detail aids, clinical studies, presentation decks, and other materials. You are able to ensure content is accurate, professional, and aligned with Epocrates editorial standards, AMA Manual of Style guidelines, and brand-specific style preferences. You are able to communicate in a clear and thorough manner through reports, documentation, and other written information. You are able to collaborate and work cross-functionally across several different and distributed teams. You are able to work both independently on assignments that come into the Editorial queue as well as collectively with members of the Sponsored Content Services, Account Management, and Publishing teams.
The Team: Our Sponsored Content Services Team is responsible for developing physician-facing educational messages for Epocrates, an athenahealth service and the #1 medical reference app for physicians at the point of care. Epocrates is now used by more than 800,000 healthcare professionals nationwide. As our messages are used to guide treatment decisions, the integrity of our content is important. Sponsored Content writers and editors ensure that all messages are of the highest quality?by complying with FDA guidelines and AMA style?and meet the expectations of our users.
Identify all typographical, grammatical, and usage errors, and ensure all content meets Epocrates standards and technical specifications
Develop content, when assigned, for less technical pieces, basing content on either Pharma assets or in-house materials
Carry over client revisions to Word drafts, employing Track Changes function in Microsoft Word, and upload documents to appropriate Content Forms in SharePoint
Work with the Writers to annotate message content for submission to Medical/Legal Review, using both approved assets and primary source materials (journal articles, posters, etc) as the basis for support
Access and utilize the Salesforce and SharePoint programs to monitor queues, download and upload files, prioritize projects, and track time against specific tasks
Bachelor’s degree required
1 to 3 years of relevant work experience within the pharmaceutical industry or healthcare communications/advertising
Experience with medical editing and proofreading according to AMA style; electronic and/or mobile experience preferred
Experience editing across a broad range of therapeutic areas
Experience with fact checking/medical annotations
Client-service orientation, with excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills
