Deputy Chief Medical Officer

Part time
Capita is responsible for completing medical examinations for new recruits to the HM Armed Forces and is responsible for the recruitment process for the Army reporting through the Professional Services Division.
This role will be responsible for giving direction to the clinicians operating on the contract and attending regular meetings and developing a close relationship with the RN and RAF medical teams. You will also provide internal audit capability and assurance. The role will be vital to ensure that the clinical results across the country are accurate when assessed to the tri-service medical standard (with single service variations). The role will have an important part to play in the education, promotion and support to Military Medical Examiners who work remotely around the UK.
This is a part time role working 22.50 hours per week, across 3 days.
What you’ll be doing:
Alongside the CMO, you will be the focal point for Military Medical Examiners (MEE’s) on a daily basis, supporting them in clinical and procedural matters.
Supporting in quality assurance and Clinical Governance matters, providing regular feedback to MMEs, taking part in designing and executing training activities.
Supporting the RN and RAF administration team, by reviewing complex applications where additional clinical judgement is required
Assisting in dealing safely and effectively with difficult or distressed candidates
Maintaining relevant training materials for new MME’s working with the Clinical Governance Co-ordinator
What we’re looking for:
A fully qualified Medical Practitioner with licence to practice.
Registered as a GP or experience within occupational medicine
Good IT skills with Microsoft Office suite
Experience with the Royal Navy or RAF, would be an advantage
Confident communicator at all levels
Confidence to present if required
