We have a diverse and talented team of employees who come to us from many kinds of backgrounds. We have an immediate need for a part-time Content Screener that will work remotely, reporting to our Operations Manager.

Do you love to read? Do you want to work part time and contribute to an important service? We?re looking for people to screen online condolence messages in accordance with established guidelines. Positions start at $13/hour.
Legacy.com hosts online obituary sections for newspapers. Each of these obituaries includes an online Guest Book where friends and family can submit messages to express their condolences or share their memories. The primary task of this position is to read these messages before they are posted online to ensure that inappropriate or offensive material does not appear in the Guest Book.
All shifts are Central time:
Tue – Sat (2pm – 6pm)
Tue – Sat (6pm – 10pm)
Essential Job Functions
Review the text and photos of a guestbook entry to determine if its content is appropriate for posting
Use good judgment in applying guestbook guidelines to determine whether to approve, flag, or delete a guestbook entry
Screen newspaper notices to ensure content is accurate and formatting meets company standards; approve, flag, or correct a notice as appropriate
Review Pets and Celebrations ads and photos to verify functionality
Process funeral home obituaries to ensure content is accurate and formatting meets company standards; Screen archived newspaper notices to ensure content is accurate and images and formatting meet company standards
Shift among the different entry queues as directed by the shift coordinator
Communicate with more advanced screeners, the shift coordinator, or a supervisor to resolve issues as they arise
Complete training for more advanced queues and apply that training to guestbook entries
Other duties as assigned
You must meet all requirements in order to apply:
Minimum level of formal education required: High School Diploma or GED. Bachelor’s Degree helpful but not required
A personal computer (must have a Windows 10 PC with minimum of 8Gb RAM or Apple Macintosh running a recent version of Mac OS X (10.13 or newer) and 8Gb RAM).
High-speed Internet access (Cable or DSL internet service with minimum download speed of 8Mbps and upload speed of 2Mbps is required) installed in the home and ethernet cable.
Note: for speed and reliability of connection, as well as security reasons, hotspot connections and wireless routers are not acceptable
A recent model smart phone (iOS 12.x or higher / Android 6.0 or higher.)
Must not have any conflicting responsibilities during shifts such as being the primary caregiver for a young child or an elderly person
Residency in Illinois or Indiana only
