Claims Customer Service Representative, Bilingual in Spanish

Pay:$17.00/hour (Paid Weekly)
Shift:Monday-Friday 7:00a-4:00p, 8:00a-5:00p or 9:00a-6:00p – must be able to work either shift, must be able to work overtime and Saturdays as needed
Bilingual is a Plus:90% Bilingual ? Read and Write Spanish
Anticipated Start Date: ASAP for a month with end date unknown – end date will be extended every 2 weeks as needed

TheClaims CSRrole is responsible for providing front line, direct contact with clients and customers. This is principally done through receiving or placing telephone calls, however mail, express delivery, fax and other electronic methods (e-mail) are also possible means of communication. Generally, uses computerized system for tracking, information gathering and/or trouble shooting the items raised by the client/customer. Recognizes consistent problem areas and reports to higher level for action. Responds in a timely manner. Assists the client/customer in moving through the claims process. Assesses the need for providing information or education to the customer.
Primary Job Responsibilities
Responsible for processing inbound calls for initial reporting of claims by policyholder, client (mortgage company, etc.) or other.
Provides status on existing claims to either policyholder and/or client.
Updates computer records in order to maintain data integrity of information.
Resolution of customer issues and refers escalated items to higher levels for guidance.
Researches information in order to provide customers with basic data related to policies.
Maintains client relationships via quality customer service and timely processing of additional claims request through fax/email.
Knowledgeable of products relatedto auto/ mortgagebusiness and additional product/services associated with the company.
Other duties as assigned by management and may support other departmental areas based on business need.
Knowledgeable of multiple claims applications including mainframe and windows-based systems.
Basic Qualifications Required
Minimum 6 months – 2 years of customer service-related experience. Doesn’t have to be in a call center environment, but that is a plus.
Knowledge of insurance industry is a plus.
Understanding of call center environment and importance of service standards.
Computer literate with emphasis on Microsoft Office software (especially Excel) and Windows.
Testing required on basic office skills, proofreading and alphanumeric data entry(5000 kph required)
Bilingual in English/Spanish is preferred
Customer service and/or clerical experience in an insurance, mortgage or banking services environment.
Experience using a mortgage servicing system preferred.
